Sladjana Stanković was born in 1966 in Trstenik in ex-Yugoslavia. She has been living and working between Paris and Belgrade since 2002.
Her steps and projects have often led her to look for alternative human stories in the Balkans. She cast her eyes on the worker’s world, to find men still at work behind busted and rusty machines. She went down far and deep underground with the miners to emerge confused and full of contrasted emotions. She spent time with Roma kids in the slums of Belgrade and orphans stranded in the mountain in Bulgaria.
